Abstract
1. Presentation of the combined databases of Sveriges Teatermuseum
Sveriges Teatermuseum consist of a museum (objects, costumes,
sketches, paintings, sculptures etc), a library (books, magazines, play scripts etc),
archives ( manuscripts, photographes, press cuttings etc) and a register of the Swedish
repertory (based on programmes and with information about press cuttings and material
connected to the performances).
A small history of our chosing the system and the continuous developing since 1997.
Thus we have split up the ADLIB Information System in four parts:
- ADMUSE for the museum
- ADLIB for the library
- ADARCH for the archives
- ADREP for the repertory
All four modules share the same name register, and ADMUSE, ADLIB and
ADARCH share the same performance data base. ADREP is separated since it is exclusive for
performances given in Sweden, while the other modules could refer to non Swedish
performances as well. Besides we want to keep ADREP an exclusive Swedish data base.
Beneath is a sketch of what could be recorded in the four modules:
ADMUSE
Administrative name, object name and object number
Acquisition information, home location, condition and negative number
of photos
Maker, creator, production country & date, material, technique, physical
description
References to the portraited actor, part, user, place and stage
title (connected to performance data base
Related information and references to other sources
Object movement, exhibitions, loanings, preservations, etc
ADLIB
Author, title, shelf reference,Publisher, Year and paginations etc
Classficiation numbers, subject tems, subject names, subject
titles (connected to performance data base) and how many males, females
and total parts
ADARCH
Is not yet started, but will include references to the actor or institution, part, user,
place and stage title (connected to performance data base)
ADREP
Titles, theatre/company, First performance date, genre, place, city
Creators, language, copyrights, related materials
Artists, actors and their parts, extras, dancers, musicians and how many males, females,
children parts
Statistics: amount of performances, audiences etc
The aim is that only one authorized form of name and original title
should be used all over the collections.
For names of persons as well as for institutiones there is a zoom-screen where related
names, used for-forms and equivalented names are connected. Thus if person changes the
family name, both names will give the same records.
For the visitors we will offer a clean web-interface where you could select the database
or bases you want to investigate:
- Museum

or
and a query form:

- Female: Male: Children: Total
Playtexts
Performances
Every field could be truncated or not truncated, and duplicated and
applicated to boolean searching (and/or/not). In this way you could search for two
different actors in the same play or which plays of a certain author has a director
staged, or what sketches of an artist do we have from plays given in a certain place....
The amount of parts is for searching plays with for instance only 4 parts, or only 2 parts
that also are female...
In these four modules we will record all the objects, printings, photographs, sketches ,
books, manuscripts, and selected articles and plays from the magazines. The information
from all the programmes, press cuttings and other informational material will be recorded
in
ADREP, so that will be a central database for all performing arts of Sweden.
The web-interface will later on be included in our web-site on internet.
2. Presentation of a newly started complimentary documentation of
performances, and informations recorded on DVD.
