Prof. Veinstein and
Prof. Golding presented their report of the 4th edition
of the Blue Book (BB).
The B.B. Commission was happy to learn that 30 Russian
questionnaires have come in now and were translated
during the Congress in order to be included in the 4th
edition that may be expected to be published in early
1991.
In view of preparation of the 5th edition, a new
questionnaire, prepared by Paul Ulrich and Ruth Freydanck
(both members of the B.B. Commission) was discussed at
length and amended.
As a working procedure for the realisation of the 5th
edition, the Commission made the following five
decisions:
- The concept of
questionnaire will be refined according to
suggestions made during session of the B.B.
Committee.
- The mailing and
gathering of the questionnaires will be organised
decentrally (e.g. linguistic regions, countries,
national centers)
- Dr. Ruth Freydanck,
Paul Ulrich and Roger Rennenberg are appointed as
Junior Editors by the B.B. Committee.
- The Editors
(Veinstein, Golding and the above mentioned
names) will mail out and gather the new
questionnaires with an explanatory letter.
- Paul Ulrich will
afterwards file all the completed questionnaires
in a database that will serve as a basis for the
5th edition.
With these conclusions
yesterday's session of the Blue Book Commission was
closed at 4 p.m.
