SIBMAS encourages students and professionals to apply for a bursary to attend SIBMAS events.
Bursaries can cover modest travel costs and event registration fees (where applicable) at the discretion of the Executive Committee.
Five bursaries of 300 euros each will be awarded to attend the symposium in June 2026.
Priority will be given to those submitting a paper or presentation.
Who can apply for a travel bursary?
- Any postgraduate student or young researcher.
- Experienced professionals lacking financial support.
When should the application be submitted?
- Applications must be submitted by sending a message to info@sibmas.org.
For the June 2026 symposium, applicants must submit their candidacy by 30 April.
How much is the bursary?
- Applicants may ask for up to 300€ per grant.
- Higher bursaries may be awarded in special circumstances, at the discretion of the Executive Committee.
How is the award decided?
- The elected SIBMAS ExCom makes the final decision on awarding the bursary
How is the bursary paid?
- The applicant forwards receipts to the SIBMAS Treasurer, who reimburses the costs after the event by bank transfer. If the applicant is not able to attend the event, we regret that travel expenses cannot be reimbursed.
