Symposium guests are encouraged to visit the local swimming pools in Iceland. They are a cheap and refreshing way to enjoy the local culture! Icelandic swimming pool culture was officially added to the UNESCO List of Intangible Cultural Heritage on December 10th 2025.

There are plenty of options in the city centre. Below is just a small sample. There are also various cafés. Usually there is a small selection of vegan/vegetarian options in most restaurants.
