La Monnaie-De Munt Opera (Brussels) has accorded some loans to the Centre Pompidou-Metz museum.
The most important loan for the collection department is the exhibition of a 3D set model of Berline de Bruyckere for Dusapin’s opera Penthesilea (picture above). The archives and collections department began a long-term preservation project for its set models collection about 10 years ago. Now we see the fruits of our labours: for the first time, a well-preserved 3D set model, conditioned, photographed and described as a museal piece, is presented in an vast, international exhibition to focus on the relations between opera and plastic arts.
