Publication: Corps (in)croyables – Amateur Practices in Contemporary Dance

May 28, 2017

A joint study on the amateurs’ contributions

The Centre national de la Danse regularly publishes new studies. This one is dedicated to the “amateur” – a multiplicitous, sometimes-contradictory figure. It deepens and disrupts the notions of work, creation and transmission, expertise and experiment. It moves and changes the norms of the dance performance and of the dance practice. This publication analyses how the amateur’s body is a simple human body but also an outstanding vessel for creation.
